Campuan Bali

Campuan Bali
A beautiful village situated at 1 km west of Ubud famous by the name Campuan. Beautiful and green environment will welcome you, cross the river bridge with a clear and deep. This bridge is a vital link between Ubud with Campuan, Panestanan, Sanggingan and Kadewatan.
Under the bridge Campuan is crystal clear river known as Tukad Oos. Therefore, this river is the pulse of the surrounding community as it provides clean water and used multifunctional. It is also a Hindu spiritual region, because it is located at the confluence of two rivers.
The word "campuan" means a meeting between the two rivers and rapid pronunciation word "mixed". Temple Mount Bees who patterned the 12th century temple is the symbol of agriculture and fertility. Dikelingi by bamboo forests and clear mountain water add to the attraction of this region.
Legend tells that in the 8th century, founded the Temple Mount Rsi Markandeya Bees at the confluence of two rivers Campuan. Then in th.1906, Nieuwenkamp find a cave with a big rock debris as much as two columns. Characteristics found in the ceiling of the cave, but unfortunately it can not be seen again by the earthquake that occurred th.1917 destroyed everything.
Then in th.1930, a German artist, Walter Spies settled in Campuan and now a hotel Tjampuan residence. Serene and tranquil surroundings, has its own charm and attract the attention of famous painters, intellectuals and celebrities from around the world. Spies and Rudolf Bonnet make an important contribution in the world of modern Balinese art. They direct the Balinese artists painting with canvas and paint techniques.
This is an inspiration for local artists in the work by incorporating elements of European painting techniques, but does not leave the original elements.
Bees Temple Mount area is a quiet area, located to the north of bridge Campuan. Nyoman Suradnya (local Campuan / batik painter) states that this temple is the central and most important in Ubud.
In this temple held a ceremony "Penyegjeg Bhumi" (October 1991) aimed at a large ceremony for natural meruwat once held 100 years. If by chance you come into this sacred area, try thinking for a while and listen to the sounds of nature, the sound of running water, and you will feel that you are the only one there. Very suitable place to meditate and seek peace.
Approximately 1 km north Campuan, Neka Museum there is a traditional-style and there are four art gallery containing works of the famous Balinese artists. The works of art are not sold just seen there only and placed on one part of the museum.
There also are sold, so if you want to buy Balinese-style painting could you dapatin here. In the first gallery, you can temuin the work of the old Balinese traditional painters, such as: Gusti Nyoman Lempad, Ida Bagus Made, Anak Agung Gde Sobrat and Kebot. Furthermore, in the second gallery you can see the works of Gunarsa exotic, Abdul Aziz, Widayat, Abbas Affandi Dullah and which is a modern Indonesian artist who produces his work in Bali.
In the third gallery are the work of Walter Spies, Rudolf Bonnet, Arie Smit and which is the European artists who gave great influence in the world of Balinese painting. While the work of other foreign artists who lived in Bali for the time being, placed in the fourth gallery. There is a small bookstore, where you can buy a postcard that contains famous paintings there. So do not worry deh! If not to the original painting, you can buy his postcard. Also copies of books sold Perception of Paradise (1993).
Although there are paintings that are sold, but in fact there are not included price tags and no information about his paintings. Museum Neka Neka Suteja founded by the collector since 1966. You also can berunjung Antonio Blanco's home which is a strange and eccentric artist living in Bali. Her work shows a typical Catalonian with a high ego. Blanco called her work "renaissance".
Much of her work is erotic accompanied by an interesting color composition and contain hidden meanings. Blanco's residence is located on the left after the bridge, the route Campuan-Ubud.
