One more that needs to observe the unique location of the temple is located on the hill boulder seafront. At low tide, and the height not more than knee-length, we can cross to the place.

Heart - heart if you want to shop, because here is very expensive. Do not forget to always bargain.
According to a source that I got, this place is a travel story of a priest named Dang Hyang Nirartha originating from East Java who headed eastward to spread the teachings of Hinduism. Until one day, Dang Hyang Nirartha arrived at a beach with a small island in the middle of the sea with parangan soil and rocks hard at the bottom. Resting place was the preacher and soon came a few fishermen who brought the god to the priest. Later in the same place, Dang Hyang Nirartha convey the teachings of Hinduism and suggested the surrounding community to build a shrine on the island where he was staying. Then, when the priest died, the community built the shrine on the island by the name Luhur Pura Tanah Lot, which means the land in the Middle Sea.
Not just anyone can get into the temple. The tourists only allowed to see from under the temple. Only certain people are concerned about to perform the ritual prayer or religious activities are allowed entry into the temple.
